Writing Diary – 20th January 2013

Happy New Year!

It’s been a while since I got round to doing one of these, but then I haven’t really been writing very much. I do have a rough plan for the year, however, so time to share it with you all. Oh, and I’m delighted to report that I have now sold more than 100 copies of 1,309 Days Later. Most of those sales came in the run-up to Christmas so I hope it went down well!

If you’ve been following me on Twitter or Tumblr, you’ll have seen a few of these things popping up:

They seem to be going down pretty well, and I’m creating more of them than I am releasing on Twitter and Tumblr so the plan is to put them into a book which will effectively become a review of either the year, or perhaps the first six months – otherwise it’s going to get a bit big.

I did have the idea of writing a book about Sachin Tendulkar but I’ve expanded on this idea and my next cricket project will be to write about the ‘modern day 10,000 run men’, with chapters on Tendulkar, Dravid, Ponting, Lara, Sangakkara and Chanderpaul. I’m defining modern day as 2000 and later.

Maybe I’ll do something on the Women’s World Cup, but I’m not quite sure on that yet. It will depend on what sort of highlights I can view during the competition but producing a similar book to 546 Runs Were Enough definitely appeals. How’s that?!
